Caramelised banana split sundae

A sweet banana split sundae is best enjoyed at lunchtime.

Ingredients

Caramelized banana:

  • 4 Tbs butter
  • 2 Tbs Huletts Caramel sugar
  • 2 Tbs Huletts maple syrup
  • 2 bananas, split in half lengthwise

To serve:

  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Chocolate Ice cream
  • Huletts Chocolate Syrup
  • 1 Tbs Chopped nuts

Method

  1. Place butter, caramel sugar and maple syrup in a pan, and heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves.
  2. Place banana, cut side down into the pan and leave to caramelize for 2 minutes before turning over.
  3. Serve Bananas in bowls, topped with the ice cream and drizzled with the chocolate syrup, sprinkle with nuts to garnish.

Top tips

Go bananas!

Sudden craving for banana bread but your fruit isn't ripe enough? Simply pop the bananas in a pre-heated oven at 150°C for 40 minutes. The skins might blacken but the fruit will soften up perfectly.
